Fulton volunteers make a clean sweep

More than 500 people roamed city streets and parks to pick up trash.

Volunteers in Fulton kicked off their Clean 'N Green Week with the 13th Annual Clean Sweep Saturday.

More than 500 people roamed city streets and parks to pick up trash.

The event also had an electronic waste drop off, paper shredding courtesy of Kingdom Projects, and environmental experts talked about recycling topics.

Clean 'N Green Week offers plenty for volunteers including a new event for this Monday's Earth Day when Fulton Mayor Leroy Benton is inviting everyone to participate in a noon brown bag lunch at Memorial Park.

Westminster College Environmental Sciences Professor Alan Goldin will discuss environmental issues during the outdoor luncheon.
