A Fulton man pleaded guilty Monday in Callaway County to attempting to hire a hit man to kill his estranged wife.
Michael Gordon was arrested in April of 2013 after negotiating with an undercover highway patrol officer posing as a hit man to shoot his wife in the head. Gordon and Tara Moore were going through a divorce at the time, and Gordon was allegedly upset by issues involving child custody.
Prosecutors contended that Gordon and the undercover officer agreed to a price of $2,000 to kill Moore.
Gordon was sentenced to six years in prison for his guilty plea.
