Former football coach's alleged sex crimes outlined

Michael Washington has been indicted in Callaway County on three charges relating to inappropriate sexual advances involving a child.

A former Jefferson City Public Schools football coach's alleged sexual crimes against children have been outlined in a Callaway County indictment.

Michael Washington, 42, has been indicted on two charges of enticement of a child and one charge of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

Before indicting Washington, a grand jury heard testimony including allegations that in early 2012, he tried to get a child under the age of 15 to use sex toys; that in early 2013 he tried to get a child under the age of 15 to shower with him; and that he suggested to a minor under the age of 18 that he be allowed to take naked photographs of the victim.

The indictment indicates that all of these actions were done for the purpose of engagining in sexual conduct with the victim.

All of the crimes are alleged to have occurred in Callaway County. Washington has been released from custody on $40,000 dollars bond.

His trial is set for August 14.
