A Florida man was arrested Wednesday night thanks to a Boone County deputy's automatic license plate reader.
At about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday a Boone County Sheriffâ??s Department Deputy was alerted to a vehicle with stolen license plates, by his automatic license plate reader.
The license plates had been reported stolen to the Lincoln, Nebraska Police Department on July 13.
Deputies with the help of Highway Patrol troopers stopped Joseph Vance of Belle Isle, Florida, in the car near the 130 mile marker on eastbound on I-70.
The stolen license plates were for a 2002 Chevrolet Impala, which was not the car the plates were on that Vance was driving.
The Impala was found to be stolen in a different case out of Lincoln, Nebraska on July 11.
Deputies said several items inside the vehicle that were recovered, that had also been stolen during separate thefts, all occurring in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Vance was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license.
His total bond was set at $5,300.
