      First court date set for men accused of murder

      Jeffery Nichols, 22, and Christopher Lewis, 18, were charged Monday with first-degree murder, with bond set at $1 million.
      Two Randolph County men accused of murder will be in court Monday for arraignment.Jeffery Nichols, 22, and Christopher Lewis, 18, were charged Monday with first-degree murder for the stabbing death of 92-year-old Carmelita Kaser.The two then went on a crime spree that included shooting two other people, assaulting a woman to steal her car, shoplifting and stealing guns.Kaser will be laid to rest Saturday in Moberly, with burial to be in the Greensburg Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday night at the funeral home.According to court documents, Nichols and Lewis stole a machete-like instrument from the Moberly Wal-mart. Lewis told police that he and Nichols broke into Kaser's house to steal money. He said they stabbed her with the machete-type knife in the neck and hit her with with the butt of a pistol.Nichols and Lewis are being held on a $1 million bond.Authorities are looking for a woman who lives on Highway 63 between Moberly and Macon. The two men contacted her during their crime spree, and officials said they want her to call the Moberly Police Department, the Randolph County Sheriff??s Department or Troop B of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
