Fire destroys California church

A California-area church was destroyed in a fire early Tuesday morning.

Fire crews were paged at about 2:50 a.m. to a fire southwest of California. While en route, they received information that the fire was near Flag Springs Road.

By the time crews arrived, Flag Spring Baptist Church was fully engulfed in flames, and the roof and all four walls had collapsed into the basement.

The church is considered a total loss, and the cause of the fire is being investigated.

No one was injured.
