FBI joins search for bank robber

      Local and federal authorities are investigating a Cooper County bank robbery and today released a picture of the suspect.

      At approximately 3:45 pm Wednesday afternoon a man entered the Alliant Bank in Blackwater Missouri.

      He demanded money from the teller. The man had a handgun and left with what authorities are calling a substantial amount of money before he ran off.

      Deputies from the Cooper County Sheriff's Office are investigating and looking for the get-away car. It's described as a black passenger car with tinted windows and blacked out wheels.

      The suspect is a white male, medium build, 5'6" to 5'8" in height. He was wearing a light colored long sleeved shirt, Khaki colored cargo shorts, a dark ball cap and sunglasses.

      Police say the investigation in continuing and the FBI is assisting.
