Organizers of Almeta Crayton’s Everybody Eats Thanksgiving Day Meal in Columbia celebrated their 20th anniversary.

Volunteers collected cash and food at all three Columbia Moser’s Grocery Store locations.

Anthony Crayton became the event’s organizer after his sister passed away just weeks before Thanksgiving in 2013.

Organizers expected to feed thousands of needy families and individuals during this year’s Everybody Eats event.

The Thanksgiving Day meal was open to everyone without restrictions.

“It’s amazing because we still get so many wonderful stories about what my sister meant to them and how she made sure that everybody ate and had a good time,” Anthony Crayton said.

The 20th annual Thanksgiving meal happens on Thanksgiving Day at the Columbia Senior Activity Center from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

As Almeta used to say, "Everybody is welcome!"
