Entire town of Bland without water

The floor of Bland's City Hall was destroyed by about three feet of of water after a water main break Friday morning.

UPDATE: A public meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday at Krause Accounting Services off Highway 28.

ORIGINAL STORY: An 8-inch water main at Bland City Hall broke at approximately 3:15 a.m. Friday, causing the entire town to be without water.

All water was drained out of the water tower due to the break.

The floor of Bland City Hall was destroyed by about three feet of water.

Crews are working to determine the location of the leak.

Gasconade County Emergency Management Director Michael Schoening is advising residents to call the county dispatch for information and instructions. That number is 573-437-7770.

Bland is located in Gasconade County and has a population of about 530 people.
