Eight people died on Missouri highways during this year's Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers investigated 299 crashes resulting in 140 injuries.
139 people were arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Five of traffic deaths were in Highway Patrol's Troop F area, which covers much of mid-Missouri.
The holiday weekend began 6 p.m. Wednesday and ended 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
