Wed, 18 Sep 2013 14:03:53 GMT — A man was arrested after allegedly driving into a lake in Macon. At about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, the police responded to a report of a car crashing on Macon Lake Road and ultimately landing in the lake. Officers determined the a 40-year-old man was driving on Macon Lake Road, turned a curve and started to skid. They said he then accelerated and drove into Macon Lake. The driver was taken to a local hospital for his injuries. While authorities have not released the driver's name, they said he was arrested for careless and imprudent driving, driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked license. The Macon Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Macon County Ambulance, Macon County Rescue Squad and Macon City Fire Departments. The car was pulled out of the water and towed away.
