Drive by shooting in Jefferson City injures two

Police arrested three Cole County teens in connection to Friday morning's drive-by shooting.

Police arrested Terrance Jackson, 18, for first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and Stealing of a Firearm.

Brandon Maresh, 18, and Charles Roark, 17, were arrested for first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Jefferson City Police said detectives are continuing to follow additional leads in the case, which is still currently under investigation.

Two people were taken to local hospitals after they were shot in a drive-by shooting in Jefferson City.

Police said at about 4 a.m. Friday, the department got reports of shots fired in the 600-block of Ohio Street.

Then more reports came in indicating at least one person was shot and was being taken to a local hospital.

When officers got to the scene they found several witnesses who said two people were shot and taken to a Jefferson City hospital.

They also gave descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle involved in the shooting.

Officers later found the suspect vehicle in another area of the city.

Police stopped it and took several people inside it into custody for questioning.

During a search of the vehicle police found a shotgun.

Police said a 22-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, both from Jefferson City were shot and are being treated for moderate injuries.

The investigation is continuing at this time.
