Dorial Green-Beckham arrested on drug charge

Springfield police confirmed to KRCG 13 MU football star Dorial Green-Beckham was arrested on suspicion of a drug offense Friday night.

Police spokesman Lt. Shawn Williams told KRCG 13 Green-Beckham and two other people were arrested just before 10 p.m. Green-Beckham was brought in on suspicion of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Williams emphasized the case is still under investigation and no formal charges have been filed. Green-Beckham was held at the Greene County Jail but was released early Saturday morning.

The Springfield native was arrested along with two other teammates in 2012 for smoking marijuana near Memorial Stadium. That arrest resulted in a $200 fine after he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of tresspassing.
