Ameren Missouri donated 50 air conditioners to to the Samaritan Center in Jefferson City Tuesday. The a/c units will be distributed to eligible low income and elderly customers.

Greg Maples said the help couldn't come at a better time, "Right now I don't have an air conditioner and the reason for that is because I had a humongous tree and one of the limbs fell on it and it took my air conditioner and so, it's hot."

He said life without an air conditioner has been tough, "Sometimes I get up at two or three o'clock in the morning to take a shower, a cold shower. With no air conditioner, you don't even have to have a sheet to cover up with, so it's miserable. Getting an air conditioner this week will be Godsent "
