Deputies seek home invasion suspect

Sheriff's deputies are looking for at least two men who broke into a Columbia home late Friday night.

At 10:38 p.m., deputies were sent to the 5300 block of Ponderosa St., where a homeowner told them at least two men had kicked in his front door. He told deputies he was in a back room when he heard a ruckus at his front door. The homeowner said he armed himself with a handgun and saw a man wearing dark clothing and a ski mask going upstairs. When the suspect saw the homeowner, he and an accomplice fled to an upstairs bedroom before leaving the residence through a window that opened onto the roof. Nobody was injured and nothing was stolen during the break-in.

Sheriff's deputies ask anyone with information about the break-in to call Crimestoppers at 875-TIPS.
