Thu, 23 Jan 2014 13:16:52 GMT — Bitter cold has gripped Mid-Missouri on Thursday morning with temperatures hovering close to zero. Gusty northwesterly winds will make temperatures feel like 10 - 20 degrees below zero during the morning hours. If heading outside, make sure all exposed skin is covered. Fortunately, the winds will subside for the afternoon and the area will see lots of sunshine. High pressure will reinforce the cold, Arctic air with highs 25 degrees below normal in the teens.Relief will come on Friday, though winds will be strong early in the day bringing sub-zero wind chills once again. Under mostly sunny skies and gusty southerly winds, highs will be above freezing in the mid-upper 30s by the afternoon.
