Cyclist's body found along I-70

Columbia police recovered items belonging to a 36-year-old Columbia man.

UPDATE October 30, 2013--

The name of the person killed in a weekend accident has been released. Police say Ennis Marquis Patrick, 36, of Columbia was killed while riding a bicycle on Interstate 70 Saturday.

Columbia Police believe they have also found the vehicle and the driver who hit the victim.

The confirmation was made by the Boone County Medical Examiner's Office through DNA testing. The family of the victim was notified of the confirmation.

Columbia police Saturday said they believe a cyclist was hit and killed on I-70 near mile marker 131 Saturday afternoon.

Authorities responded to two reports of a large amount of blood and bloody clothes on the side of the highway before 1:00 p.m.

Bloody clothes, a blanket, a shoe, a backpack, and a wallet were found at the scene.

The wallet and backpack both contained items identifying a 36-year-old black male from Columbia.

His identity has not been release pending DNA results and further investigation.
