A man is facing weapons and domestic violence charges after a dispute over the custody of an 18-month-old child led to a confrontation allegedly involving a gun.

Police say after the boy's mother demanded his return, Williams became threatening and pointed a gun at the mother, who then left and called police.
When police arrived to the 1100 block of Cordell in Jefferson City, Williams surrendered peacefully and was taken to jail and the boy was returned to his mother.
Williams is charged with unlawful use of a weapon, felon in possession of a gun, and 2nd-degree domestic violence.
Police did not recover a gun.
