Creve Coeur repeals red-light camera law

Creve Coeur was among several cities that stopped issuing citations in December.

Another suburban St. Louis town has repealed its red-light camera law.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Creve Coeur City Council on Tuesday voted 6-0 to repeal its ordinance dealing with the devices.

The cameras are the focus of lawsuits and other challenges around the region. A state appeals court has ruled that red-light camera laws in Arnold and Ellisville violated state law. Ellisville voted to cancel its contract for the cameras in March. A court order invalidating the St. Louis city red-light camera ordinance is on hold pending the outcome of an appeal.
