Smoke could be seen for miles early Monday morning as firefighters put out flames at a home off of Route Z in Callaway County.

Smoke could be seen for miles early Monday morning as firefighters put out flames at a home off of Route Z in Callaway County. A couple in their 60's lived in the home. Family members said the fire started at about 5:30 a.m. They said a furnace in the home on Weiser Acres Drive could be to blame.A chihuahua and a cat died in the blaze.The couple are staying with family nearby.
