City Councilman-elect Glen Costales says he plans to waive his monthly pay, and says heâ??ll vote in the best interest of his constituents.
Costales said Tuesday that he intends to waive his $450 monthly pay until the city can secure a 2% raise for city employees who make less than $40,000 a year.
He also estimates that over 90% of his constituents are against a conference center and plans to vote with them in mind.
Costales defeated incumbent Carrie Tergin Tuesday by a margin of only 47 votes of the more than 900 votes cast.
