New figures show Missouri farmers harvested 447 million bushels of corn for use as grain in 2009. That's up 17 percent from the previous year. Yields averaged 153 bushels per acre. That also was up from 2008 but was a little shy of the record yield set of 2004.
Missouri soybean production totaled 231 million bushels in 2009 -- up 21 percent from 2008. Yields averaged 43.5 bushels per acre.
