      Convicted embezzler pays back money

      Stacy Griffin-Lowery

      Attorney General Chris Koster said a woman who pled guilty to stealing more than $90,000 from the Missouri Veteran TMs Commission has paid back the money.

      Stacy Griffin-Lowery pled guilty in federal court in July to charges of theft from programs receiving federal funds.

      A judge sentenced her to pay back the money, to perform 200 hours of community service and to serve five years probation.

      Griffen-Lowery worked as an accountant for the Missouri Veteran TMs Commission from 2005 to 2008.

      A state audit found that she had directed government funds to a personal account.
