      Columbia woman arrested for assault with knife and bat

      Shavona Wisley is in custody for assaulting two children and an adult with a bat and knife.

      A Columbia woman is in custody for assaulting two children and an adult with a bat and knife.

      The incident took place on Monday around 7:40 p.m. in the 4300-block of West Bethany Drive.

      According to police documents, the adults got involved after a verbal argument between two juveniles turned physical. Police say 33-year-old Shavona Wisley hit the children with a bat and assaulted another adult with a knife.

      Both children suffered minor injuries. The adult was treated at the hospital for cuts to the face and a hand injury.

      Wisley was arrested for three counts of second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. Her bond has not yet been set.
