Thu, 09 May 2013 15:55:00 GMT — A wanted Columbia man faces multiple felony charges after leading police on a chase Wednesday night. A Boone County sheriff's deputy tried to stop 21-year-old Rashard Bigham for failing to stop at a stop sign near Santa Barbara drive. Bigham led the deputy on a chase into the El Chaparral Subdivision. Police said he drove recklessly through the area and broadsided a parked car, toppling it on its side. Bigham then ran from the scene, but was caught a few blocks away. Police found marijuana and a loaded, stolen firearm. Bigham was wanted on five outstanding warrants. Authorities said he is connected to the shooting on election day last year in the 3600 block of Sugar Tree lane. He is in the Boone County jail and faces 11 more charges, including first degree assault, felony resisting arrest and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
