Columbia police are investigating three incidents early Sunday morning. Police say the incidents appear to be related.
Officers were called to the 3600 block of Grant Court at 12:33 a.m. in response to an armed robbery.
Investigation revealed that a male victim was unloading his vehicle inside his garage when two men came in and pointed a handgun at him. They then stole items from the victim and fled the scene on foot.
The suspects are both described as black males between 5'10" and 6'02", weighing between 175 and 190 pounds.
During the Grant Court investigation, officers were called to the 3500 block of Teakwood Court, which is three streets north of Grant Court, at 12:38 a.m. in response to a robbery with shots fired.
The male victim said he was standing outside of his home when he was approached by a black male who pointed a handgun at him and demanded his property. The victim was only wearing shorts at the time and only had his car keys on him. He gave the man his keys.
The victim noticed a second black male standing across the street.
The victim was allowed to go back inside his residence, where he got a gun.
The victim went back outside with the gun and the suspect shot at him. The victim shot back three times. The suspect shot back once and then fled the scene on foot.
Suspect descriptions matched the robbery on Grant Court.
As officers were investigating the Teakwood Court incident, they were approached by a third victim who said his home on the 3400 block of Teakwood Court had been burglarized.
The victim said he arrived home at 12:20 a.m. and put a backpack inside his garage but lef the garage door open.
He said he was inside when he heard the gunshots nearby, and when he walked outside to see what was going on he found his backpack was stolen.
Officers found his cellphone in the woods near the residence.
No one was injured during the three incidents and police are investigating.
