Columbia man linked to heroin death arrested in St. Louis

A spokesman for U.S. Attorney Tammy Dickinson confirms the arrest of Jon "Doom" Washington in St. Louis Thursday.

Jon "Doom" Washington, accused by federal prosecutors of supplying heroin to a 16-year-old girl who later died, was arrested today in St. Louis, according to Don Ledford, spokesman for U.S. Attorney Tammy Dickinson.

Ledford said he does not know any of the particulars surrounding the arrest, or what law enforcement agency made the arrest, but the next step in the process will be a court appearance by Washington, which could take place Friday in Jefferson City.

Federal prosecutors have charged Washington with distributing heroin to a minor. They charge that he injected 16-year-old Morgan Myers with the drug in a Columbia motel room on the evening of April 2. He discovered her dead at approximately 4:00 the next morning, called 9-11 and fled the scene.
