Tue, 09 Apr 2013 20:25:08 GMT — Some Columbia Public School students can now use their smart phones, tablets and other electronic devices in their classrooms.School board members adopted a new policy Monday night that gives school administrators the option of allowing the use of smart phones for educational purposes.School board members hope students do not take advantage of the new policy by using their phones and other devices for Facebook and other distractions.It will be up to school administrators to prevent that type of activity from happening. The new policy requires parents to sign a written agreement.School officials plan to install Internet filters to block inappropriate sites.
