Citizen Jane Film Festival promotes women directors
Thousands of people are in Columbia this weekend for one of the largest women's film festivals in the country.
The 8th Annual Citizen Jane Film Festival offers 20 films this year.
The festival celebrates women who directed and co-directed movies of all categories.
Organizers said the main goal of Citizen Jane is giving international exposure to more films directed by women.
Festival Organizer Kerri Yost said, "We are a film festival where women make the movies, but we have movies for everyone. We program a wide variety of movies. We have horror films since its October. We have films about comedians. We have dramatic films. We have fiction films. We have documentaries."
The Citizen Jane Film Festival continues through Sunday at various venues throughout Columbia including the Stephens College campus.
