Jefferson City Police have arrested a gang member wanted for several robberies and shootings in Chicago.
Chicago Police and Jefferson City Police began communicating after 22-year-old Chicago resident Latrell Doss was the primary suspect of a robbery in a Chicago beauty salon on June 3rd . During the armed robbery Doss and an accomplice left with about $5,000 in human hair and $2,000 in cash.
Authorities were led to believe Doss fled to Missouri when his picture was circulated in the Chicago area for the robbery.
On Thursday night the Jefferson City Police Departmentâ??s Community Action Team did a surveillance of the area in the 900 block of East Miller after learning Doss was in Jefferson City and had violated his parole for weapons offenses.
Police saw Doss sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle during the surveillance and stopped the car to investigate.
When police stopped the vehicle Doss attempted to flee but was caught by officers.
Doss tried to fight officers and made several threats before he was taken into custody.
Doss was taken to the Cole County Jail on the parole warrant as well as felony resisting arrest charges.
Jefferson City Police said Doss is known to be a member of the Black Disciples gang.
