Dozens of veterans arrived back in mid-Missouri to much fanfare, after spending a day visiting monuments in Washington D.C.
Veterans were aboard the Central Missouri Honor Flight's 27th trip to the nation's capital.
This one was dedicated to Vietnam era Army Veteran Mike Miller, who died after a four month battle with liver cancer.
Miller served as a guardian on eight honor flights.
The group arrived back to Columbia in the early hours of Wednesday morning after flight delays in Washington D.C.
Motorcyclists with the Central Missouri Honor Flight Riders escorted the veterans on their way back home.
The bikers met up with the heroes in Kingdom City and followed them back to Columbia which is where they were greeted by cheering family and friends.
The next Central Missouri Honor Flight is scheduled for Monday, June 9.
