A Callaway County man charged with shooting four people, three of whom died, has accepted a plea agreement and wonâ??t stand trial.
Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney Chris Wilson tells KRCG 13 Josh Maylee pleaded guilty Monday morning to three counts of first degree murder and one count of first degree assault.
After he pleaded guilty, Judge Kevin Crane sentenced Maylee to four life sentences, three of those without the possibility of parole. Judge Crane also ordered those sentences to be served consecutively.
By pleading guilty, Maylee will not face a jury trial in September as previously scheduled. With a trial, Maylee would have faced the death penalty.
Police say in October of 2010, Maylee fatally shot Eugene Pinet, 48, his wife Jackie, 57, and Jeffrey Werdehausen, 46. Werdehausen's wife, Gina, was also shot but survived.
