Wed, 12 Jun 2013 15:54:36 GMT — The Callaway County prosecutor charged a Fulton man with multiple felonies after he threatened to kill his wife. Leland Smith, 40, was charged Tuesday with first degree domestic assault, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the first-degree, attempted arson and assault. Authorities responded to a disturbance in the 1500-block of County Road 340 in Fulton the evening of March 28, 2013 after someone reporter that Leland Smith was dumping diesel fuel around their home and was going to burn it down. Smith's ex-wife told investigators her ex-husband said he was going to burn the home down. His ex-wife also said when she tried to stop Smith from pouring the fuel on the home, he poured it on her, the floor and the ground outside of the home. Three juveniles were at the home when Smith was pouring the fuel. One of the children told investigators Smith said he wanted to light the home and everyone inside on fire.
