At about 1:00 a.m. Cole County Deputies went to the resale shop, Toms, in the 100-block of Lomo Drive for a burglary in progress.
Thu, 25 Apr 2013 15:11:45 GMT — A man was arrested early Thursday morning after he was caught trying to break into a Cole County business. At about 1:00 a.m. Cole County Deputies went to the resale shop, Toms, in the 100-block of Lomo Drive for a burglary in progress. The owner was spending the night in his business when he heard a noise, according to the sheriff's department. The owner went to find out what the noise was and found a man halfway in his shop through a broken window. After finding the man, the owner yelled and threw boxes at the burglar. The burglar then ran away. A deputy was nearby and saw the burglar's vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. During an investigation, security video and the owner helped identify the culprit. The sheriff's department said the man admitted to the burglary and he was taken to the Cole County Jail. He is being held for burglary and is awaiting formal charges from the Cole County Prosecutors Office.
