Thu, 06 Mar 2014 01:41:35 GMT — A man is dead after trying to run from police in Bourbon, MO. Wednesday morning at 10:30, a Bourbon police officer tried to pull over a black Chevrolet Cavalier. The car matched the description of a car involved in a chase with police in Sullivan. The car would not stop for the Bourbon police officer, and the pursuit went north into Gasconade County, then back south into Crawford County. The chase ended when the car crashed, and the suspect, 50-year-old Gary Eugene Wenzel, of Bourbon was fatally shot by the officer. The officer was not hurt. The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control, Troop I, is investigating the shooting. An autopsy and coroner's inquest has been scheduled.
