      Black bear caught on camera

Conservation officials said the number of bear sightings has increased in recent year. The bear population is estimated to be between 300 and 500 bears.
A picture of a black bear was snapped by a motion-detection wildlife camera on a farm in northwest Laclede County on April 22.

Missouri Department of Conservation officials said the landowner suspected vandalism after seeing that the camera had been moved from a tree. Checking the pictures, however, revealed it was actually a bear who got it out of the tree.
