Now that Christmas is over, mid-Missouri bargain hunters are flocking to stores to score post-Christmas discounts.
Management at Target in Jefferson City says crowds are typical the day after Christmas, when holiday merchandise is slashed by 30-50 percent.
That includes wrapping paper, decorations, candy and even paper goods like printed plates and napkins.
They also try to cater to people coming in with gift cards and Christmas cash.
While businesses typically sell many gift cards during the holiday season, Target will not get the profit until the card is used.
That's why they cut prices on other merchandise as well, like winter apparel, to try to draw gift card holders.
