Autopsy reveals missing runner died of heart condition

According to affiliate KCTV, a former Jefferson City youth pastor died of natural causes after collapsing during a run in Liberty.

30-year-old Chad Rogers was reported missing after he failed to return from a run on the night of July 22. After an extensive search, he was found sitting and slumped over a portable toilet near a construction site four days later.

The Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office determined there were no signs of foul play and the autopsy revealed that Rogers suffered from heart disease.

The Liberty Police Department has closed the investigation.

Rogers leaves behind his wife, Sarah, and a young child.
