Authorities ID woman found dead in NW Mo. park

A northwest Missouri sheriff says the death of a woman whose body was found in a state park does not appear suspicious.

A northwest Missouri sheriff says the death of a woman whose body was found in a state park does not appear suspicious.

The Highway Patrol on Monday identified the woman as 53-year-old Janette Riffle-Hartley, of Cameron. The St. Joseph News-Press reports a maintenance worker found her body Friday near the lake in Wallace State Park, about seven miles south of Cameron.

The Patrol says final results of an autopsy conducted Saturday won't be released for three weeks.

But Clinton County Sheriff Porter Henson told the newspaper the death did not appear suspicious. Preliminary autopsy results indicated that Riffle-Hartley died of exposure to the elements.
