Tuesday, former Missouri Gov. John Ashcroft will return to the Westminster College campus in Fulton to a podium he shared with President Ronald Reagan 20 years ago.
It's the anniversary of Reagan's address celebrating the unveiling of a sculpture crafted from eight sections of the Berlin Wall by Edwina Sandys in memory of her grandfather, Sir Winston Churchill.
In 1946, Churchill prophecized the beginning of the Cold War in his famous address at Westminster, a speech which coined the phrase "Iron Curtain."
Ashcroft was governor at the time of the Reagan speech, which came on the first anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
