Arrest made in Jefferson City shooting

Jefferson City police have arrested a suspect in a November 9th Jefferson Street McDonaldâ??s robbery, and the November 16th shooting in the 700 block of Madison Street.

While police investigated both incidents, they developed information connecting the two, which led them to the suspect 26-year-old Joseph A. Cotton of St. Louis.

Cotton was arrested Monday and faces charges of assault for the shooting, and robbery for the McDonaldâ??s incident.

Cotton was transported to the Cole County Jail pending charges.

Police say he also had two outstanding warrants.
