      Armed robbers invade home, beat and rob man

      Thursday morning at about 4:45 Columbia Police officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Premier Lane after they got a 911 call with men yelling for money in the background.

      Columbia police officers are on the lookout for three armed robbers.

      Thursday morning at about 4:45 officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Premier Lane after they got a 911 call with men yelling for money in the background.

      Police said three men with handguns forced open the front door of the apartment.

      Inside the apartment was a man in his fifties, two women in their twenties and three children, aged 1, 4 and 5.

      The man was tied up and hit in the head with something.

      The armed robbers demanded money and started searching the apartment.

      The men left the apartment with an undisclosed amount of money.

      The man who was tied up went to the hospital and was treated for his injury and released.

      The only suspect description is three black males with average builds.

      One of the suspects had dreadlocks.
