"Anchoring Project" in full force at Bagnall Dam
LAKE OZARK —
Ameren UE says a construction project is in full force at Bagnall Dam this winter.
Crews are drilling holes through the dam and in the bedrock, where a cabling system is being installed, in an 'anchoring project.'
The anchors will make certain the dam is held securely into the bedrock. More than 66 million pounds of new concrete are being added.
"There's not a problem with the dam associated with that. It's a replacement project for some anchors that were installed back in the 1980's that were at their end of life," Ameren Osage Plant Manager Phillip Thompson said. The $52 million dollalr upgrade is expected to be completed in fall of this year.
