Amber Alert issued for missing Springfield girl

Springfield police have issued an Amber Alert for Hailey Owens.

Updated 1:10am, Feb. 19th:

Suspect and vehicle located in South Springfield;

abducted girl remains missing

Springfield Police have located the suspect vehicle in a child abduction case and booked a suspect on kidnapping charges. The vehicle was found with the male suspect inside, at a residence in South Springfield. Hailey Owens remains missing.

A command post has been set up at National and Bennett and 30-40 officers have begun an extensive search that will continue throughout the night, or until she is found.

Updated, 8:23pm, Feb. 18th:

Springfield Police have more details on the search for a 10-year-old girl at the center of an Amber Alert. They have not released the suspect's name, but say he is 45-years-old, with grey hair and an unshaven face.

There is also a second possible license plate for the 2008 gold Ford Ranger. It could be 1YS454 or 1YF454.

Springfield, MO, police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing ten-year-old girl. Police say Hailey Owens was taken Tuesday by a white male.

While the description of the man is vague, there is a better description of the car he drove. It is a gold 2008 Ford Ranger, with Missouri registration 1YF454.

Hailey is described as a white female, 10-years-old, 5 foot, 2 inches tall, weighing 90 pounds with long brown hair, brown eyes and pierced ears. She was last wearing blue jean shorts and purple sandals.
