Accused heroin provider waives appearance

Jon Patrick "Doom" Washington has waived his right to appear at all pre-trial hearings.

Jon Patrick "Doom" Washington will travel back to mid-Missouri for the next step in the legal process after waiving a hearing in St. Louis Monday.

Washington is accused of providing heroin to Morgan Myers, 16, in a Columbia motel room on the evening of April 2. She was discovered dead in the same room early the next morning.

Although no official cause of death has been released, Myers is presumed to have died from a heroin overdose. Washington has admitted to administering the drug to her on the urging of a second man, identified by authorities only as "C-Bo."

According to U.S. Attorney spokesman Don Ledford, Washington has waived his right to appear at all of his pre-trial hearings. The next step is for evidence to be presented to a grand jury for possible indictment. The grand jury schedule has not been set.
