After seeing below average temperatures for more than a week, Mid-Missouri will finally see some relief. Temperatures on Thursday morning, while cold, were a big improvement from earlier in the week. Morning lows were in the teens and 20s, anywhere from 10-20 degrees warmer than Wednesday. Winds may be gusty at times from the southwest helping to usher in the mid 40s for Thursday afternoon. Mostly sunny skies will accompany the pleasant temperatures.
Clouds will build in the overnight hours ahead of a shortwave trough that will impact the area on Friday. The clouds will help keep lows modest in the mid-upper 20s. Light snow and rain will be possible after sunrise on Friday. Accumulations (if any) look to be minor for Mid-Missouri.
