A shade of winter

More below normal temperatures greeted Mid-Missouri on Tuesday morning. Temperatures started out in the lower-mid 20s with partly cloudy skies above. Clouds will linger through much of the day, which is going to limit afternoon temperatures. A dip in the jet stream won't help warm us either, look for highs only in the mid 30s.

A strong cold front will slide in from the north this evening bringing a blast of Arctic air. The front will also squeeze out some flurries and light snow across Mid-Missouri. Most of the area will see only a dusting, with the possibility of .1-.2" of snow south of Jefferson City. Clouds will clear overnight and temperatures will be frigid Wednesday morning in the single digits. Wind chills will likely be near zero.
