85-year-old woman injured in Fulton crash

A woman was injured in a crash in Fulton Saturday morning.

An 85-year-old woman is in Callaway County Hospital after a two-car accident in Fulton Saturday morning.

Police responded to an accident at Highway 54 and County Road 306 at 10:12 a.m. When they arrived they found a 1988 Pontiac blocking both northbound lanes and a 2011 Toyota van in the median.

Investigation revealed that the 85-year-old female driver of the Pontiac was traveling west on CR 306 and tried to cross the highway in front of the Toyota van.

The van struck the Pontiac just in front of the driver's door.

The woman had to be extracted from the Pontiac by the Fulton Fire Department and was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The occupants of the van, two people and a service dog, refused medical treatment.
