Three stealth bombers from Whiteman Air Force Base are back on Missouri soil after hitting targets in Libya.

The B-2s returned Sunday afternoon after a 25 hours mission in support of Operation Odyssey Dawn.

Whiteman officials said the B-2s released 45 bombs against aircraft shelters in Libya. Each bomb weighed 2,000 pounds.

The air force base said the goal of the strikes was to make sure Libya doesn TMt break the no-fly zone imposed by the United Nations Security Council.
