      3 men arrested for distributing heroin in the Capital City

      Steven L. Dennis a.k.a. "Puller" was one of the three Chicago residents staying in Jefferson City to distribute heroin.
      On Sunday , the Jefferson City Police Department's Community Action Team arrested three men in connection with an ongoing heroin interdiction campaign. Police said the three men were Chicago residents staying in Jefferson City to distribute heroin. The individuals were 33-year-old Steven L. Dennis a.k.a. "Puller", 32-year-old Tatum Carter a.k.a. "Free" and 23-year-old Gregory Wright a.k.a. "Mac." Dennis was identified as a high level heroin distributor and is also a suspect in recent Jefferson City heroin overdoses. He has been charged with five counts of distribution of heroin. Dennis is held in Cole County Jail on $250,000 bond. Carter and Wright are also charged with the distribution of heroin. They're being held in the Cole County Jail on $100,000 bond each. Heroin continues to be the primary focus for the Jefferson City Police Department's narcotics enforcement efforts. So far this year, reported heroin overdoses in Jefferson City are down 60% compared to the 2012 reports.
